ACTUARY'S CERTIFICATE OF EXEMPT INCOME PERCENTAGE
(Section 295-390 of the ITAA 1997)
PURPOSE:	If the Fund has current pension liabilities and the trustees obtain an actuarial certificate, they are entitled to claim a proportion of the net ordinary assessable fund income to be exempt from tax.
WHEN NOT NEEDED:	If all the pensions are account based pensions and these liabilities have been fully segregated at all times during the year, then a certificate is not needed. By default, funds with only pension accounts for the entire year fall into this category.
DEFINED PENSIONS:	Funds with a defined pension have special requirements and this is not the correct area for such funds. Please see www.finsightplus.com or Freecall 1800 203 123 for the appropriate dataform.

THE WEB BASED SERVICE

Virtually all tax exemption requests will generate an immediate draft report at any time of the day or night. A final report is emailed after additional manual checks of the appropriateness of the data input by the actuary. Very occassionally when the data results are unusual, the system will capture the data and initiate the report but not provide the percentage until the actuary has examined the calculations.

The old Excel datasheet service will continue to be available, but at a higher cost in 2010/11. The online system is more cost efficient, and we encourage you to consider this option.

LOAD A PREVIOUSLY SAVED DATA FORM
You can save even a partially completed data form to your PC and reload it later. This could be useful for a variety of purposes, including, review by another colleague, pre entering contact details and where it becomes apparent that further work is needed before requesting a certificate.

FEES 2009/10
A discounted fee per Certificate of $176 inclusive of GST is available if paid at the same time the report is generated, otherwise the cost via invoice is $187 inclusive of GST. The online payment option can be made by credit card; Paypal/EFT or via the speedy PreRegistered card option - for a fax form click here... Invoice addressed to either the firm of the trustees are available. For for details see the manual - click here... GUARANTEED NO INCREASE IN THE $176 (incl. GST) discount fee for either 2010/11 or 2011/12, i.e., decreases in cost in real terms for payment at the same time the report is generated (by Credit Card, PayPal or PreRegistered Card). The fee for the online invoiced option will be 192.50 (incl. GST) in 2010/11 and $242 (incl. GST) for the old Excel data form request.
